EPG finishes with a flurry to send Prairie Central packing

EL PASO — The fourth quarter was nirvana for El Paso-Gridley as the Titans rolled past Prairie Central 46-34 in a nonconference girls’ basketball game at the Titan Center Thursday.

Prairie Central held a 26-23 advantage through three quarters, but the Titans opened the final frame with a flurry of points. EPG scored the first 17 points of the last stanza to take a 40-26 lead.


EPG had led 11-8 in the second quarter before Prairie Central went on a 10-2 run for an 18-13 edge. The Titans had led 7-6 after the opening lap while the Hawks led 18-15 at the break. Each side tallied eight points in the third period.

Myli Ehrhardt recorded a double double with 17 points and 12 rebounds for El Paso-Gridley (3-2). Sloan Gentes also put up 17 points while Edie Stauter collected 8 points and 9 boards. Lily Wettstein checked in with 4 points and 7 boards.

Addi Donley paced Prairie Central (2-5) with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Abi Nimbler and Jayla Hammond each scored 5 points and Adrianna Cutrell registered 3 points and 7 boards. Cadyn Pride also had 3 points, Kori Buscher scored 2 and Jules Woodrey netted 1 point.
